LANSING – State Representative Marc Corriveau (D-Northville) today encouraged area veterans to take advantage of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law's Mobile Law Office, which will visit Plymouth on Monday, June 29. The visit is part of Project SALUTE – a statewide program that provides free legal assistance on federal benefits claims to low-income veterans.
The mobile law office will stop in Plymouth on Monday, June 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at PlymouthCity Hall, 201 S. Main St.
The mobile law office is a specially outfitted 31-foot recreational vehicle that has been on a statewide tour providing legal counseling and assistance. Volunteer attorneys and law students working with Project SALUTE have assisted more than 2,000 people at senior centers, churches and other community centers during the past year. According to Project SALUTE, there are more than 290,000 veterans located in Wayne County and the surrounding counties.
