LANSING – State Representative Marc Corriveau (D-Northville) today announced that Canton Township will receive $350,000 from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for bridge construction over the Lower River Rouge.
"This development grant will help create jobs now for our workers and pump more money into our economy," Corriveau said. "With construction season getting under way, our workers will see an increase in the jobs available. These bridge projects also will make the Lower River Rouge an outdoor destination for families looking to stroll along the river, which will help boost our local economy."
Canton Township will receive a $350,000 development grant from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund for the construction of six pedestrian bridges to span the Lower River Rouge along a 3.5-mile multi-use pathway that runs along the river.
"New development helps to bring new life and vitality to the community," Corriveau said. "I am thrilled that Canton Township is receiving this grant. It just goes to show that our community is growing and thriving."
