LANSING – State Representative Marc Corriveau (D-Northville) today hailed the decision by Stardock Systems Inc. to expand its operation in Plymouth Township by creating a second games studio.
"I'd like to thank Stardock Systems for investing in our community and our economy," Corriveau said. "This is great news for Plymouth Township and the many talented workers we have in our community. With commitments like this, I know that we will continue to create jobs, strengthen our economy and come out of these tough times stronger than ever."
Stardock Systems received a Michigan Economic Growth Authority (MEGA) tax credit valued at $1.2 million over 10 years. Stardock Systems will expand at its current location to allow for the development of a new PC game. The project is expected to result in $900,000 in investment and create 154 new jobs, including 53 directly by the company, according to the Michigan Economic Development Corp.
"This is the kind of investment we need to move forward as a leader in the 21st century," Corriveau said. "Diversifying our economy is critical to Michigan's recovery. With more companies like Stardock Systems seeing the potential that Michigan has to offer, we can get back on the right track and attract more job providers to our state."
